Join me in the Happiness Challenge…

and Join me in becoming a “Happy Merchant.”

It has been said that the key to “Happiness” is based on the 3 things…

  •  Something to Do

  • Something to love

  • Something to look forward to

Think about taking a challenge to make a difference in your life and those around you by just being happy.  Become the “Happy” Merchant in the life of those around you.  Just think… this would give you something “to do.”  You would then be fulfilling part 1 in being happy.

Well, if it is so easy to complete Happiness, part 1.  Let’s look at part 2…Having something to love.  How about looking within and “loving” to make people happy.  It could start with a “Smile.”  Can you imagine just seeing someone and smiling at them.  I don’t know about you however, I love to send a smile to others.  It is so amazing what you receive in return.  It is usually a smile and sometimes more.  Have you ever been in a store and really in need of some help.  It happened to me just the other day.  I had to stop at a hardware store rather quickly.  As I was driving I noticed my car engine gauge showed it was getting a bit hot.  I saw the hardware store, drove up to the building, parked the car and in I went.  A man saw me and asked if I needed some help.  I “smiled” and told him about my immediate problem.  We chatted about my predicament and after our chat this dear man insisted on coming out with me along with the ”Prestone.”  He gathered up the water hose, added some Prestone and there before me was a happy man making this frustrated but “smiling” lady happy.  I thanked him so much.  His reply..”Come back anytime.”  I am here to help you with anything.

Did my challenge help this man have something to do.  “Yes”…he was helping a frustrated woman with a problem.  Did this man have something to love.  Well, I might say he loved sharing about his past profession as we chatted while taking care of my challenge and he also shared that he just loves his job because he can  help people with all sorts of challenges.  I would say he also fulfilled part 2.  I was certainly loving the time he was taking care of my challenge.   I was loving the time I was having as I was receiving so much help.  I definitely wanted to also make sure I showed my appreciation.  This man was certainly making a difference in my life.

Now part 3…Something to Look forward to … I do know that if such an opportunity came about  where I had an “at home” problem , I know “Doc” will be there to hopefully provide me some help.    As far as “Doc” is concerned he already has expressed his thoughts when he said to me, “Just come back  any time.  I will be glad to help.”

I know that I have  overly simplified what makes up being “Happy.”  However, sometimes we just don’t look around us for easy reasons to be happy and we should.  For me, I do know and have been told that I can find the smallest things to make me happy.  My reply has always been…Well, isn’t that beautiful or this is so much fun.  Being blessed in appreciating the small things in life might be because of being an only child and entertaining myself when I was young.  However, do look around at the simply beautiful things around you.  It will bring a smile to your face.  Try it!

In the meantime I have a great site for you to visit.  http://www.2inspireyou.com.  This site does inspire and also provides a Daily Hug Message which you can receive each morning.  Today, the message is all around the heart and the importance of being happy.  It, also. includes a special life quote:

Life Message from “The Daily Hug”

May the special moments you spend with your friends today be the memories that are stored in your heart and may your heart capture plenty of pictures so that you will have the special memories for tomorrow. Special moments lead to special memories!

This quote exemplifies what we started with at the beginning of this blog.  Happiness is based on the following…  To Do something, To Love Something,  & To Look Forward to Something.  Seems simple doesn’t it.  Well, really it is if  we live “In the Moment.”  Join me …and be a “Happy Merchant.”  Let’s make a difference as we travel throughout the day.  Let’s bring magic to our moments and have fun… Let’s start with a great smile.  See how many people will smile back.  It is fun!

Join me and take up the Happy Challenge each day.  I do hope you will come back to “In the Moment” and share your experiences with this Happy Challenge.

Please also visit our “Happiness is” page for some great quotes to think about.  Oh and before you leave our Quotation page has oodles of quotes to live by.  Please come back and visit the quote page often.  You might want to choose a quote to use each week if not each day.

Thanks for your visit!  Happy Days to you!

Today, I am reflecting on my special trip to Fernandina Beach Fl where I visited with Artist, Sandra Baker-Hinton at her Gallery - ”The Amelia San Jon Gallery.”

Sandra is known to many on Amelia as the Senior Volunteer Turtle Lady.  When visiting her Gallery be prepared to stay for a while.  Her art combined with her love for the beach and her love for the Sea Turtle are the main ingredients that make up A Tantalizing Recipe for an unforgettable trip to this Special Gallery Visit.

While  visiting with Sandra I was hearing strange sounds. Believe it or not the sounds were coming from her computer.  Little did I know …Sandra is not only involved in the local animals of Amelia moreover,  she loves all wildlife wherever it might be.  Here, at her Gallery,  all visitors even find her computer an extension of her gallery.   Here on her computer she has a “live cam close-up” viewing a barn owl named Molly and her young and future young.  As you enter this special gallery you will not only see great art moreover, you might also see visitors huddled around the computer  in the back of the gallery watching Molly.  What a “Living” Art Gallery.  Sandra provides all visitors a special way of seeing art at it’s best!   May I include …Sandra is the most down to earth loving person who provides every person who visits her gallery time and attention.

I quickly realized that this was not just a gallery of art; moreover, a living testament of wildlife and an exhibition of the passionate work of Sandra’s work both in watercolors, acrylics, fused glass and photography.  In addition, the people who come to the gallery stay for a while as there is so much going on…

  • Great conversation about the art and wildlife at the Amelia San Jon Gallery  on Amelia
  •  Stories of the Artists represented at her gallery

and

  •  The Live Web Cam from California presenting Molly, the barn owl, from California.

So… please , learn more about Sandra by visiting her Website.  Learn more about her art.  Also, below, I have provided a link to visit Molly, the barn owl in her Owl Box in California.

Now, I know you might be wondering why I found for myself at the Amelia San Jon Gallery?  It is thrilling to share the answer with you.

The Amelia San Jon Gallery is now presenting our own artist, Marie Brown.  Visit here at
“In the Moment”  Gallery to see Marie’s prints and greeting cards.  You will now be able to find her greeting cards and prints at the Amelia San Jon Gallery in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.

Thank you to Sandra Baker-Hinton for accepting Marie Brown’s capitivating vibrant art.  Her sea turtles, wildlife, dogs and horses prints and greeting cards just fit in with Sandra’s love of wildlife and her art including the webcam of Molly, the barn owl and her owlet.

So…If you are planning a trip to Amelia Island make sure you visit “The Amelia San Jon Gallery” and meet Sandra Baker-Hinton.  She welcomes everyone with open arms and a thrill in her heart to share her love of art and wildlife.  Be prepared to stay for a while.  Make sure while you are visiting the art gallery you enjoy Marie Brown’s Art…take home a greeting card and / or print.  Know you will enjoy sharing her love of animals.   You can visit Marie’s art, here, in our art gallery.

Dear Friends,

Downtown White Springs, Fl

This day is highlighted by more lessons on what makes a difference in our life.  As I visit people on my journey I always receive a lesson or two or maybe even three.  Yes, I am a Professional Coach…Yes, I do invite people to live “In the Moment.”  Yes, I receive messages every day when I live in that special moment.  I might receive a message when I might say “hi” to someone or ”Hope you are having a special day” or “So good to meet you!”  or it might be when I visit the White Springs Azalea Festival.

You guessed it, that is where I was yesterday.  Since I have experienced The Azalea Gatherings in Houston, I was envisioning Azaleas in Bloom.  There were Azalea plants for sale, flowering trees announcing Spring which could be seen around many of the old homes.  However, it was not the same…It was my Spring invitation to Country Living at it’s best and relationships.

There were chickens, roosters, pigs, and bunnies for sale.  One whole street invited me to meet some of these little ones.

Let me share some pix my friend Marie took…  I hope you can feel some of the flavor on my day’s journey in downtown White Springs at the Azalea Festival.

These Chickens and Roosters were proud as were their owners.  l learned about methods of  feeding  these guy as well as the many different types of Roosters and Chickens that were available to me if I truly had a place to raise my own flock.  Some I found at are courageous and can live a rugged lifestyle whereas others need a bit more care.

The moments I was having yesterday brought back stories my folks told me about how during WWII my mother and father raised chickens in a coop in back of our home.   I was about 4 at the time.  It was during this time I brought about worry for both of my parents when they found me missing one afternoon.  They searched high and low in and around the house.  The last area was to check around the coop.  Yes, you guessed it.  There I was inside the coop tying my ribbons around the chickens necks.   Needless to say, I learned that the type of chickens that I was calling my new little friends were not the friendliest in the world however, some how and for this moment they just let me decorate them with my ribbons.

Little did I know that the country moments I was having, yesterday, would bring back such memories from years ago.  It was a precious ”memory” moment  and then I met,  Tyler and his Grandfather.

Tyler and His Grandfather…Common love of working with Chickens and Roosters.

Could not help but enjoy seeing a young man walking around with a Rooster.   Stopped to talk to this special pair.  What a delightful young man.  We read so many things happening in the paper however, however, on my journey I truly experience meet many young people like Tyler.   Tyler loves to work with his grandfather on his grandfather’s farm whenever he gets the chance.  As Tyler and I visited about his Rooster, Tyler’s grandfather joined us in conversation.  I know just why Tyler loves being with him.  What apparent love and admiration these two special people shared between the two of them.

As we chatted later on I asked Tyler what he wants to do when he gets older, Tyler said he did not know however he knows his favorite hobby is working with chickens.  His grandfather said that he was introduced to chickens at age 4 and loved being with them every since.  I am sure that the love that these two people share has something to do with it.  As it always is and always will be…loving and caring relationships count for so much.  What a great and exciting moment for me to bring back memories for me as well as enjoy such a lasting relationship of a Grandfather and his Grandson.  I will definitely remember this moment.

As a professional coach, I truly know that animals can play an important part in our lives.  They are such nurturers, providing unconditional love.

A colleague of mine sent me a link to an article about the use of therapy dogs in counseling.  I have a mission to include this in my future work however, wanted to send you a special video called “Moment by Moment.”  Please enjoy how animals have an impact on so many.

This video can be found on the Delta Society page for those who would like to learn more about organizations which utilize our special animals in therapy.

Enjoy “Moment to Moment”    (Click on “Moment to Moment to view this video)

God Bless to all and to our special little friends who are making a silent difference in so many loving unconditional ways.

PS  Please share your stories with me as well.  Love to hear from you.

More to come later…

Spring will soon be here!   Are you ready?  It is a wake-up call for me!

Read and Learn what Challenge I have taken on!  Join me in this Challenge!  We can support one another to be GREAT!

It can certainly be a time of “Frenzy” collecting all the tools to do a clean sweep from house to car to yard…  My… oh… My… What is a person to do …

I know I woke up extra early this morning just thinking that I feel so good about the “Springtime” arrival in a few days.

I, also, woke up this morning thinking about this past week as I spent some time with a friend who has quite a few physical challenges.  Her “get up and go” is so much more difficult to accomplish than for me. However, she I noted each day that she takes her challenges and pushes herself.   What a message to receive and take to heart.  It was during my stay that the action of sweeping came up, too.  My friend was expecting some friends on this one day. As always, when friends come, we started preparing for this special visit by deciding what we needed to do.   My friend’s daughter and I took to the task of straightening up.   One of my tasks was sweeping the kitchen floor.  The floor looked so clean until the task started.  What a surprise at what I swept up from a floor that looked clean…would never have suspected that the tiny little specks that I swept up.  The floor took on a whole new a shine.   What a surprise to know that a broom with such a sweeping movements would cause so much delight from all of us.  We protected the floor all day and could not help but laugh at ourselves.   This little task grew to a thought that this sweeping job could be a “ Great title to a story”…so here I am thinking about this, otherwise, unexciting task which turned into an exhilarating fun event…How “Sweeping can change a moment into great things.”

When I think about the sweeping experience I also think about the movie I just saw…”Julie and Julia.”  Julia was such a mentor.  What an energetic message she sends to me.  “Never live with a status quo attitude.”  Work towards taking on tasks and being your “best.”  If you saw the movie, do you remember the task when Julia cuts onions and the “charge up” attitude she had to be the best onion chopper at a French cooking school.  She was bound and determined to be the best.  What a sign of “Great” things to come for Julia.  Well, we know what happened to Julia so I ask myself…”How can I apply this to me?”  who

This movie unfolds as a gal, named Julie, is so disgusted with herself.  She finds herself never completing anything and takes on the task of finding something she is bound and determined to finish.  What a task she took on when she decided that her goal was to prepare every recipe in Julia Child’s “The Art of French Cooking” in 365 days.

Julie no longer wanted to take a task and never finish…She was bound and determined to complete this unbelievable new task.  What a challenge and what lessons and what “Great” results she  experiences.  You will have to watch the movie to learn all about both Julia and Julie’s challenges however, the message ignited an idea for me.

I decided that I have been taking on a similar task this year.  However, it did not have a task name.  My task is now called…

” Sweeping Moves to Great Things”

I realize that this year’s focus needed a title like this.  Thank you, dear friends, for waking me up to new thoughts and for Julie and Julia’s Life Challenge Message.  Who would ever have thought that a broom and a sweeping movement would bring about such a meaning as well as a movie.

With this all said… my task needs to be noted…I decided that by the end of this year, 2010, my world would be made up of

  • Develop an active Virtual Community for my company “Resilience Living.”
  • Communicate with people from around the world using Twitter and Facebook
  • Share and Promote a “Positive In the Moment Attitude” via the Virtual Community and a New Radio Show called “In the Moment with Adele” …The Happy Merchant
  • Active “Resilient Life Network” …A Network of people who successfully promote  ”Positive In the Moment Attitude.”
  • Live the 365 days this year … taking on the challenges and developing “The Great Things” Attitude each and every moment of each day both professionally and personally.

Wish me well and join me!

As I look at the calendar this is the 77th day with 288 days left.

Are you with me …Will you join me…Let me know and we can share our outcomes and challenges.  Let’s Share!

Welcome to This Moment with Adele!

(Place your cursor on this special Hat and sit back and enjoy!)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Blessings to all!
